Baby & Me Parent-Infant Class | Our Family Coalition


Want more quality time with your little one? Our Family Coalition's 12-week infant class for LGBTQ+ parents and caregivers starts Friday, February 23 and will run through Friday, May 11. This parent-child interactive class supports parent-child bonding, infant health, and provides information about infant cognitive, physical, and language development. New guest presenters and participant incentives will be included for this series, including: • Sarah Quigley, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in private practice in the Bay Area will discuss all milk-related topics, including inducing lactation, supplemental feeding systems, donor milk, formula, pumping and much more. • Dr. Stacy Knight, an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant, will talk about the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) - a tool that helps parents evaluate their child's social-emotional development. Dr. Dhara Meghani from Parentline will discuss infant crying, cholic and coping. • Jay McMillin, a Professional Babywearing Educator, Certified Kangaroo Consultant, and mother of two will talk about Babywearing safety, demonstrate different types of carriers, and provide local babywearing resources. • Infant Massage Instructor, doula, and queer mama, Ali True, will provide a 4-part infant massage class. (Parents are asked to commit to attending all four sessions.) Participating families will: • Receive a free Newborn Membership (0-6 months) at Recess Urban Recreation • Be entered into a drawing to receive a Postpartum Membership at Natural Resources worth: $99!
