Emerald City Metropolitan Community Church was founded in 1972 by and for the LGBTQQIA community.
MCC Seattle has served the Seattle area for more than 40 years in affiliation with Metropolitan Community Churches.
The Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches was founded in 1968 by Reverend Troy Perry, specifically to minister to the needs of the lesbian and gay community at a time when other Christian denominations were not open and affirming. The lesbian and gay community has an ongoing need to approach God without shame or with second-class status.
Today, our ministry continues to actively support those with HIV and AIDS, and to advance our commitment to social justice. MCC churches provide a place where our relationships, our marriages, and our holy unions are fully recognized and honored in the Christian community.
MCC Seattle is a Progressive Christian church, established in May 1972. We are part of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC.com), which seeks to affirm the lives of people in their individual journeys of Christian faith.
MCC Seattle is rooted in the LGBTQQIA communities. With respect for spiritual diversity, we exemplify inclusivity in worship and community, provide spiritual education, community outreach, and promote social transformation by advancing our call to social action and justice.
