We offer senior peer counseling for the LGBTQ Community. For San Mateo County residents ages 55 and older. The counselors are trained volunteers.
Counselors share a similar age, experience, values, wisdom and culture with the clients they serve. Following training with a licensed professional, counselors meet once a week with clients to offer guidance and empathy, as well as information on resources within the county.
Since 1950, Peninsula Family Service has touched over half a million lives. Our programs empower clients by helping them build the skills they need to thrive. As we begin our seventh decade, we at Peninsula Family Service are proud to provide services in multiple languages to nearly 20,000 clients of all ages. We currently operate various child development centers and run the Fair Oaks Adult Activity Center and offer programs for older adults, families, and financial empowerment programs. We are proud to offer services to residents throughout San Mateo County, the Peninsula, south counties and beyond.
We transform lives by offering innovative programs designed to empower those in need to become more self-sufficient members of the community. Peninsula Family Service is the only local organization that offers a comprehensive array of multi-generational programs to children, families and older adults who need a hand-up, regardless of their ability to pay.
